We headed south on the canal towpath. On the opposite were
some large trees that looked like silver birches but the colour of them
suggested that that they could have been elms, perhaps the trees that the One
Elm pub in Stratford is referring to. The canal bended round to the left so
that we were now travelling south-east. After passing the marina, a footbridge
allowed us to cross the canal and entered the field via a kissing gate. We then
climbed north directly up the hill to the farm which hosts a café and restaurant.
We followed the tarmacked path to the main road then turned left for a few
paces. On the opposite side of the road was a wooden gate next to a stile.
Here, we followed the grass track through the wood to an open field. We headed
east along the trail through the middle of the field until it linked up with
the adjacent wood on the left.
