It might seem nice when you bring a bunch of friends
together at a spur of the moment encounter, but you also need to read the
situation. It might not be polite to keep everyone hanging, especially if you’re
on your way to another destination. Something’s not right when you’re not
offered any refreshment either. It’s almost as if you’ve invaded the moment,
especially when all the host wants to do is to sit outside in the fresh air
with a spot of lunch. And you’ll forever be seen as an invader desperate to make
a connection to see what you can extract from them, even if it’s just a glimpse
around the premises. It wasn’t anything special, just a plain cottage in the
countryside that was newly built. There wasn’t even a garden, just a large
drive and a lawn. But at least you can demonstrate that you’re not afraid of
anything.
