Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury

Something Wicked This Way Comes (Green Town, #2)
Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was very enjoyable and refreshing to read. There’s some great themes in book, all of which stem from three central characters. It’s set in a simple childhood time where every encounter and expression should be fun and exploratory. There’s the joys of growing up and the things to look forward to, and the regret of ambitions not fulfilled, reflected by both Will and Charles. It’s as if both boys makes up a man of two different personalities since the bond that they share is so close. The imagery is fantastic, though it’s confusing at times as to whether Bradbury is writing it literally or is using metaphors, and there’s some very surreal moments which can only be attributed to the magic of showbusiness. I love the conclusion and Halloway’s choice. It’s a shame that he didn’t give into temptation once he realised how powerful the influence was. It may be a decision that he’ll regret in the future.
