Quicker than the Eye by Ray Bradbury

Quicker Than the Eye
Quicker Than the Eye by Ray Bradbury
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

There’s the need to explore the spooky and the unexpected but rarely does Bradbury delves into the character to share what experience this had on their lives. He’s tried everything from different periods to things that are commonplace to us but are totally unknown to his inhabitants. Some are quite hard without a bit of context leaving the reader with an unsure sense of why some of these events are occurring. But there’s always a scene to make the reader chuckle, no matter how grim the subject matter is or where the inspiration comes from, and everything seems to carry on unaffected afterwards. The main event was a bit disappointing and I felt that it was an out-of-body experience that was a bit unrealistic. I felt that his afterword was inspirational and gave great advice to budding writers. He reveals that even the smallest thing can encourage you to write something, even if it means nonsense to others.
