We always take pride in the best, whether it’s being in the top rankings or seeking out the best in reviews. But sometimes it’s worth seeking out the worth for the experience. You might have an idea of what to expect, whether it’s because of the place’s established brand or they might pay a minimum wage, but you could be pleasantly surprised. There could have been a change of circumstances which means that the organisation has begun to address the concerns and they’re slowly climbing the ranks again. They may have retrained or replaced staff, improved how they operate, or could be following a completely different business model. Or you may come out with an interesting tale to tell your friends which will only add to their reputation. It’s all about how you react to the experience. Are you sympathetic if they are busy? Will you be understanding if it’s a new chef and you’re the only one there? Do they value your presence?
