I’m sad to learn of the loss of Barry Drake. He didn’t achieve much in life. He had no noteworthy accomplishments. But he was loved all the same. Barry had several hobbies. He loved wearing sunglasses and sitting on a park bench on a hot summer’s day. His voice will be remembered for filling in the boring radio slots that no-one really listens to, and those that do just wish he’d shut up and play another song. His time on the radio managed to make him so knowledgeable about music that he managed to become a lecturer on the topic. Here he earned his Australian doctorate as he translated what everyone kept on their computer into terms that leaders and government members could understand. Once he retired, he enjoyed taking his grandchildren to the funday at the greyhound track. And now the name shall pass and shall never be used again.
