A few years ago, this pub used to
belong to one of the foodie pub chains where the menu was the same everywhere
and you got cheap food for the kids who loved the ball pit in the corner and
the outside playground and consequently they were running around everywhere. Today,
the kids have gone. The pub is run by independent owners who are very keen to
showcase local beers as well as a guest beer for their regular visitors. The food
is very unique and there’s always some small quirk added to the presentation of
your dish no matter what you order. The pub is on a busy main road junction,
but inside the seats are cosy enough to hide you away from anywhere. The layout
is still designed for dining; but there are tables towards the front of the pub
that are reserved for drinkers only. There’s even a function room with a long
banquet-style table for those who wish to have their presence hidden further
away.
