Fountain of Misfortune

This fountain is set in a gorgeous square. I didn’t even note the mosaics in the fountain’s base; unless that’s a recent addition. At night it’s lit up with many colours. Oddly, I never got any shots of the fountain in daylight. It’s a very open area between the two churches; and for that reason it’s easy for the police to patrol it from a distance. There’s hardly any trees to offer shade or cover. It’s a public place and there are many benches for people to sit and soak up the atmosphere. It’s well laid out with its stone cobbles and its fences to discourage people from sitting in the flowerbeds; not that they don’t succeed. I wonder what mischief goes on around here; or whether it’s a social sin to disturb the peaceful atmosphere. Surely someone must have gone for a dip, begged for cash or attempted a heckle? Perhaps we went at the wrong time of year for that.
