I’m just wondering how this place will develop going forward.
Since our visit, it seems to have transformed itself into more of a party venue
rather than a fun golf course. A third of the holes have been axed to make space
for a party room and an arcade. But at least it’s lost its dreary wooden look;
though t still could have been a work in progress when we visited. There’s also
an emphasis on live entertainment. Despite all this, it still markets itself as
in Birmingham where it’s actually right on the border and miles away from any
form of public transport. It’s a place that wants people with cash to come and
visit; the kind of people who are happy to fork out loads for a cab home.
Still, if it keeps itself in business then it must be doing something right. I’ll
have to rally a crew together for another visit.
