Back at the village, we decided to visit the war monument by
the loch. It was a typical cenotaph but it was hidden by a small forest and you
had to climb the hill. At the top was a marvellous view of the Skye Bridge. We
decided to press onto the castle and found a mural by the harbour and stopped
by a shipwreck. Here, we noticed that the tide was coming in which meant that
we might be at risk of returning by the same path which we came. Maz had
mobility issues so she decided to turn back, but I pressed on with Ben. We reached
the ruin which was little more than a hangout for kids, but its peak allowed us
another pleasant view of the bridge, together with the village and its harbour.
Luckily, there weren’t any boats departing, so we didn’t feel compelled to
flash our breasts to charge a toll.
