When the Door Slams Shut

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us." -Helen Keller

It’s not often that we face a choice of more than one door to walk through. It’s only when you enter large public buildings that the real decision-making process takes place. Do I queue for the line to go through the automatic doors or is it faster to use the handle? No doubt the latter is more environmentally friendly as it doesn’t necessarily use power but does take more physical effort. And does it make you happy that you can get to your destination faster? Absolutely. But we must be quick on our feet to see the opportunity. We can’t brood on what could have behind the first door; though in most cases you can see through them. Some have peepholes or there may be an angle from a different area of the building to help you decide whether you should open the door. But don’t keep them waiting for long.
