This was the first of three pubs
that we visited dotted around a busy traffic island in St. Albans. It’s amazing
how three such businesses can survive as they’re in close proximity of each other.
There’s a couple of tables outside its glass windows and inside it’s very airy
and spacey and the whole pub is a large open plan area. To the front left are
some tables set aside just for drinkers, and this includes those who are
seeking too. These are tiny tables with small upright wired chairs, and there
was a patron set up there to take advantage of the free wi-fi. Beyond this is a
waiter’s station which separates the front from the rear, which is a large
hanger with long benches filled with diners taking in lunch. The barmaids were
young but were pleasant to serve us. We opted for the local IPA then spotted
the Cask Marque certificate hanging in a frame at the end of the bar.
