There’s a choice of routes that you can do, all of which are
colour-coded and waymarked. The most popular thing to do is head through the kissing
gate and climb the hill in front of you while re-enacting a Von Trapp Family
scene along the way. There’ll be a series of kissing gate but just keep heading
up and you’ll be fine. Don’t forget to stop and admire the view behind you as
you climb. At the top is a Trigg point telling you what you can see and how far
away it is. Then, if you’re exhausted enough, you can head back down again or
continue forward, but bear in mind that you’ll have to reclimb at least half of
the hill. Bear east and you’ll come to the edge of the park with a view of the
motorway. If you’re lucky you’ll get a great view of the latest jam or smash
that’s happening. Keep following the field until the footpath enters the wood.
