It was quite emotional for me to be the first person to
shake my brother’s hand and convey my congratulations. After we’d completed the
formal witness book, we went back to the chapel so that everyone could take
pictures of the poses. Then we had to head off to the lake for individual wedding
shots. Once this was done, we headed into the dining room for the reception and
the traditional speeches, one of which was read in proxy. Then a small break
took place which allowed us to visit someone that wasn’t able to attend. When we
returned, the evening reception was in full swing in a marquee at the rear of
the house. There was even a photo booth with lots of props for everyone to pose
with. Once the non-residents had dispersed, the bar staff opened up the library
which had a fine selection of spirits for the rest of us.
