Small actions beat big intentions
There are jobs to be done. But
are you prioritising the right ones? Cleaning jobs, although mind-numbingly dull,
don’t take that long once you put your mind to it and get it done. It’s just
the energy and conditions that are required to do it. It’s not something that
you might do in the middle of the night or if it’s cold and wet outside. But how
much time do we spend thinking about things rather than doing them? There’s
always something else that you could be doing, and it’s not necessarily
productive to your goals. But if you distract yourself too much, then the task
may never be done. That’s why you need to plan what you do. To get those big
intentions done, you need to break them down into smaller tasks. That way, it’ll
flow from the beginning to the end, and if you feel that you must take a break,
you can when you’ve finished a step.
