Kinver is a small town on the Worcestershire
and Staffordshire border. It’s well known for its scout camp and the nearby
Kinver rocks, but the village itself is also worthy of a visit. It has a high
street with many independent shops that are free of chains; which is a rarity these
days. The high street is quite narrow and it’s often hard to pass cars when
they’re parked because of the chicane system used to control traffic speeds
through the village. The locals will keep a close eye on you as you pass
through. Further out, there’s a canal with a nearby pub with excellent views
for those who like to watch the narrowboats passing through. There’s also a few
industrial units on the east side just below the edge. Four pubs are worthy of
your visit, but the first choice must be the constitutional club if you can
find someone to sign you in.
