‘I don’t want to do it.’
‘Why not?’
‘It’s too much work.’
‘It’ll really give you great publicity.’
‘Yes, but it’s not for a big audience.’
‘It’ll get bigger if you invest.’
‘That’s the problem. We don’t have a lot of money to make
purchases. We’re not a business. We do this as a hobby to promote our society.’
‘You’ll get people scoring beers regularly, and you’ll be
able to track them.’
‘Yes, but we already have a system for that which people are
keen to promote. They’ll also have access to the data and we don’t charge for
it, and we can also use that data to determine our best pubs.’
‘You’ll get extra customers.’
‘That’ll be great in the short term, but we haven’t got a
lot of time to set it up. If I had a dedicated volunteer that would be
brilliant but we’re overstretched as it is. If you’d approached us earlier we
might have had time to consider it.’
