You need a reason to win. A lot of the time, it’s down to
the fact of what will happen if you don’t do something. But if the situation is
unlikely to change if you don’t do anything, it makes it harder to make the
change. You need a desire to improve things. You have to hold onto the drive to
make the change otherwise it won’t happen. There might not be an instant reward
available for completing the task but you’ve got to focus on the benefits when
it’s done. If there’s no point in doing the task, then why do it? There’s other
ways to occupy your time. You might need to give yourself a personal reward
when the task is complete. It might be someone that inspires you, or at least
is someone who keeps telling you to get the task done. Or it might be the
option to go somewhere afterwards.
