Being new in town, we arrived for
a bit of exploring. The Travelodge that we were in was a basic two-storey
building that was very quiet apart from
when it came into check-time when the car park got filled with builders and
people travelling for work. It was too small to host a bar or supply breakfast,
so we had to seek that out elsewhere. Once we’d settled in, we decided to find
somewhere for dinner. We went for a walk around the docks but couldn’t get too
much of a view owing to all the fencing and security in place. We passed a few
pubs that didn’t serve food and some restaurants that were a bit too posh for
what we were looking for. We’d chosen the worker’s side rather than the attractive
tourist side. I didn’t want to do any more driving but we did find an estate
pub that was conveniently located for everyone.
