This pub was a classic. It was a modern, white-painted standalone
building hidden behind a large supermarket entrance but was close enough to be
included inside the town centre. We were lucky enough to arrive early to have
the place to ourselves. One had comfortable lounge-style seating while the
other had laminate flooring on different mezzanine levels. These were probably
set aside to make a stage but during our visit it was more of an entertainment lounge.
On one wall sat a dartboard complete with lights, chalkboard and all the
trimmings. The other had a traditional skittle alley all laid out. But what
caught our eye which was the most popular was a large bagatelle board. We
instantly started to organise our own little tournament. What they do when the
pub gets busy I don’t know but good luck to them. I hate to think what it’d be
like otherwise.
