It’s more of the same here, and although Carlin doesn’t specifically answer this question, he addresses everything in between. He also goes into more detail about the things that we do do but are too afraid to talk about them. It makes me feel a bit more normal in some respects. Key phrases are examined in detail addressing the sensitivity that they’re supposed to disguise, their correct use is questioned, and a discussion ensues of their accuracy and alternatives are suggested. Even everyday greetings do under the microscope, and environmentalists are criticised for their choice of words, though he stops short of the dumbing down of it. There’s also pointless conversations which aren’t satirical in today’s time of Alzheimer’s and dementia. He tries to have an opinion on everything from nursery rhyme investigations to veterans to the media including what should be broadcast. Even the humble title of the worker has changed in its various formats. I think the safest way to answer Carlin’s question is that he won’t.
