We drove through well-maintained roads and passed through
tunnels underneath huge mountains before arriving in the valley. Above the car
park were beautiful timber buildings with ornate windows which I believed were
hotel rooms. We followed a small road alongside the hill, sometimes giving way
to quad bikes ferrying the less abled up and down. Occasionally the odd
outhouse opened out as a souvenir shop. From a distance, it all looked so natural
and it was very hard to make out the fences of human occupation. I wonder if
the valley would have been greener if the hills hadn’t been touched. We could
just make out one sole woman working in the hills. I was disappointed that she wasn’t
wearing a lampshade styled hat. Perhaps the nature of the hillside needed very
little maintenance or maybe the rest of the staff were in the kitchen cooking
our lunch. It was very good grub though.
