We had to get an early start to our next destination before
it filled up too quickly. At the sign of any panda, the Chinese go absolutely
mental, and even with our taller status we still had to wait to get a decent
view of these rare creatures. At one point a security guard would move the
crowd on to give others a chance to see what was happening. It was a bit
annoying to see them sit there obliterated or just stuffing their faces.
Sometimes we’d spot them in the trees and it’s quite amazing how high they can
climb. They sometimes need help coming down though. Inside the enclosures, not
much was happening other than more eating. At least the teenage pandas looked a
bit more awake. My favourite were the red pandas because they were a lot more
active and put on a bit of an acrobat show despite being the size of a raccoon.
