We’re back for a wander around Earlswood. It’s a winter’s
day and there’s a lot of frost but we’ve come to attempt to walk around the
lake. We’ve found a nice car park that’s free that has a small footpath directly
to the lake via a small footpath through some woodland. Once we’re lakeside,
there’s a stream of water emptying out into the lake. Turning right, we follow
the path alongside the lake until we pass through some woodland. In this section,
the ground is quite dry and there’s plenty of bird and bat boxes mounted upon
the trees. It’s a great spot to see wildlife in action. As we approach the boatyard,
it gets muddier. We try to swap tip with
fellow walkers upon their approach about what the route is like ahead. But in
the end, the only way forward is to put your feet in front of you and go for a
good squelching.
