Golden Bridge

We started this walk to complete the last section of the canal that we hadn’t completed between Birmingham and Hopwood. Our plan was to park at the pub, but because of it being shut the car park was locked up so we parked on the small road on the other side. From here, we followed the towpath east until it bent to the north. Along the way, we passed under a bridge where the sunlight and leaves touched the embankment just enough to look like everything was golden. A few miles later, the canal gets swallowed up into the tunnel towards Birmingham. Climbing the embankment, we turned left and walked uphill heading north along a road until we found a footpath on the righthand side. Crossing the stile, we headed south down a steep hill with beautiful views of the shire. At the bottom, we returned to  a road and turned left.
