They’re handy things. It’s good to pull things together and
it’s very easy when they’re working. When they’re not or if there’s a jam, it just takes too long to adjust and it’s
very tempting to just throw the whole thing out. You’ve also got to wonder
whether it’s lighter to strap a load of metal to your chest or to add more
material. Then you’ve got to hope that people can use it. It’s easier to do it
yourself that reverse it on front of another person. But for children it encourages
more hugs as you wrap your arms around them to fasten it up. One day they’ll be
big enough to do it for themselves or they might be too big for you to do it,
but you hope it doesn’t come to that. You hope that the process doesn’t wear you
out either. With a bit of luck, you’ll have some help.
