The rear of the park is dedicated to a large football field
and a large play area. This is fenced off by a number of colourful metal gates,
and in the centre is a small group of low benches for parents to sit and watch
the action. The floor is made of a mixture of woodchip ad safety rubber. There’s
also a number of sensory instruments like metal tubes to tap and make notes,
and an earpiece that stretches to the other side of the playground. In the
middle there’s a giant rope spider that kids will be desperate to get to the top
of, but it’s designed so that parents can duck in when they get too high and
pluck them off when their fear of heights kick in or that can’t seem to get
down. There’s also lots of swings and a climbing island with a slide and a
fireman’s pole. Plenty to keep the kids active.
