This is a municipal park set just outside the town centre. It’s
gated to discourage night parties; though it’s still accessible on foot around
the back. Inside, there’s a zigzag car park which is free but causes everyone
to park at an angle. There’s an overflow area at the end, but these could be disabled
bays to let people get closer to the playground. There’s an island moat for
ducks which people are encouraged to feed by purchasing pellets from the shop. There’s
also a bandstand which hosts performances in the summer. There’s also some
tennis courts, a putting green, and a children’s paddling pool. Occasionally
there’s an inflatable slide that you pay an admission fee to use. Next to this is
an outdoor self-propelled gym. I’ve only seen kids use it. I’ve never known
anyone to train here. Bridges cross a small stream to the rear of the park.
