One of the things that my mum likes to collect are garden
ornaments; specifically colourful animals that can be pinned to the fence. These
get mounted via tiny nails which is risky during storms. I should invest in
proper hooks to stop them from being blown across the garden. Some of them are
never found again. The ladybirds an the butterflies are the worst as they’re 3D.
It’s as if the tortoise by the pond is jealous of their view. The sets come
from bargain clearance shops; but we order the bigger ones online for occasions.
Look how bright they are compared to now. We tried to set a scene so that each
panel tells a story. The girls love it and they instantly realise when an ornament’s
been installed that they haven’t seen before. The ones sticking out of the pots
seem insignificant in comparison. Maybe those should be a symbol of what we
suspect is growing in them.
