I’m sitting around a large oval table. It’s supposed to seat eight people but there’s twelve of us. Some of us are sharing chairs. We’ve just celebrated a great final night of our festival but there’s a bigger day that awaits us tomorrow. Our primary objective is to clear everything down. We don’t only have the festival to take down; we’ve got to pack our own equipment away and we’ve got to get the public off site too. There’s still some vendors who want to trade tomorrow to cook breakfast for the campers, who won’t be early risers. Then we’ve got to sort between the rubbish, useful stuff that’s been abandoned and stuff that we think belongs to someone who’s not here. We have to do all this while people are out with their families enjoying the rest of the site. We see people we recognise from school with miniature versions of themselves on bikes while we’re wandering around with black bags.
