I can go where I want. They could tie me down, but that’ll
label me as cruel. They’ve got to provide something to want to keep me here.
There’s food hidden behind buildings, but there’s also pretty flowers and
landscaped gardens complete with fountains and pampered lawns to help me spot
the worms so clearly. There’s also very little that they can keep me out of
unless they build five sides around it. And if it’s not welcoming enough, I can
always grace my presence elsewhere. Though I’m not known for long flights, I
can always place some trust in the shiny metal boxes that the humans do. Of
course, there’s an element of risk as to where I’ll end up and if I’m able to
return here since they do admire me so much. But if I get bored and develop a
sense of wanderlust, I’ll wonder if they’ll miss me roaming about the place
doing as I want.
