What is this contraption? Why is there a dead end here? Perhaps
the whole thing is a viewing point over whatever’s in the pit below. Maybe we’re
being swung around for a full tour. Or perhaps there was something pinned to
the panel in front of us that’s crushed to the floor; either by accident
because the vibrations have caused it to become loose or an attempt’s been made
to pull it off. Most likely it’s a combination of the two. It might have been a
mirror so we could have seen ourselves jump or it might have been a safety
notice displaying the dos and dont’s of this ride. Perhaps it’s blank and we’re
hiding our fear away from whatever’s causing this thing to rise up and down as
we hold on with our dear lives. I’m sure that it’s not out of spite that two of
us look the other way when one of us faces the camera to ruin the picture.
