The lounge has a very traditional layout with wood-panelled
walls while the dining room is very contemporary with lots of different tables
and shelves designed to create a large open-plan room with sections. I was a
bit disappointing to see just the one beer on offer on this visit, but these were
different circumstances to usual. We were led to the lounge as we’d booked and
the table were wide with banquette seating. We didn’t get a good look at the bar
owing to the restrictions but I think it’s been given a better paint job
compared to the pallet-coloured pine state that it used to be in. There was a
pre-printed menu which seems to be personalised as to what was on offer at the
time. The chef was named and the dishes listed felt like they were his
creations. This could be a pub that’s easy to redecorate very quickly in
stages.
