It’s a difficult situation. No one wants to spend more money for things that they don’t need; yet it’s an independent company that offers quality for its supporters and you don’t want to be seen rejecting them. The guy seems friendly enough and has a local accent that you can understand but puts you under pressure for a quick decision. You’ll end up feeling guilty if you say no. It could be done by email, but it’s just too easy to ignore or press the delete button. You can have it on file for reference later, but it’s not going to help out the salesperson. But you might be able to wrangle a bit of a deal from their efforts. You’ll take the new product if you can have a small permanent reduction on the regular one. They won’t compromise though. They’ll just send you a follow-up email to make you think about it.
