I was a bit nervous setting out to a campsite that I’d found on the web. I could have been fooled with some photographs and a postcode that could take me to some locked gates. I certainly wasn’t prepared to set off without a phone number. But whatever happened, I still had a tent and sleeping bag with me, so it wasn’t as if I would be homeless. I just might be after a bathroom and trespassing. On approach, it looks like it’s a well-maintained and thought-out area. Even though it’s a single-track road, there’s a verge to allow other vehicles to pass, with a wall with a footpath on the other side. Everything was professionally laid out, and the check-in was simple. All I had to do was report to the farmer’s cottage, and there was ample parking. The campsite was busy with activity as people were claiming their sites, but it wasn’t disruptive.
