Is this her own pool? Is the statue trying to disturb it? The little boy’s not that bothered by a giant duck. Either he hasn’t seen it or he’s pretending not to see it. His gaze is firmly committed to keeping the water going through the pipe. Is it a rock that he’s climbing or is he playing a guitar? Maybe the goose will leave him alone if he continues to do so. The height of the water will certainly dissuade the goose to keep away from him, but the goose could always get him from behind. There could certainly be some treasure directly beneath where the water hits the pond. It’s up to the goose to take the plunge and find out. I wonder if the branch she’s on is in the water or if it acts as a barrier to stop her from wandering in unawares. Is that a shadow of a giraffe overlooking the both of them?
