It feels like a piece of Sicily. It’s the sunshine combined with
the curvy roof tiles. The mirrored windows are a beautiful effect. At any time
you could visualise a senorita flinging them open to let some air in, hang up
some washing or let a lasagne cool on the windowsill. But then you’ve got to
ask what have they got to look out of? Hopefully it’s a see-through mirror. The
fountain is beautifully shaped, but you’ve got to wonder where that water comes
from and how it’s used in the villas behind. And is the emblem on the stone in
front a real practical rope, or is it part of the architecture? The grass looks
perfectly cut, but there’s an out-of-place rose in the right-hand corner that looks
like the shuttlebug from Red Dwarf. It’s certainly an alien enough
picture as you wouldn’t find this view practical anywhere, especially when
there’s a hanging basket look-alike just above it.
